Clifford Downey's book club meets every Tuesday to discuss the classic Irish novel "Ulysses", a book where none of the members have been able to get past chapter 1. After over 30 years of trying to read this book, the book club has all but conceded defeat.

When Clifford suddenly becomes homeless, he tries his best to keep up appearances with the members of the club as they go through their own personal trials.

The film is comedy about keeping up appearances, traditional masculine tropes and what getting old means among friends who make you laugh about it all.
